Galatasaray's star striker, Victor Osimhen, has made it clear that he won’t be leaving for Chelsea or any other Premier League club during the January transfer window. Despite speculation, the Nigerian international intends to remain with the Turkish giants for the rest of the season.
Chelsea was previously in advanced talks with Napoli during the summer transfer window, attempting to secure Osimhen’s signature. However, negotiations fell through, and Osimhen instead joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan for the 2024/25 campaign.
As part of his agreement, Osimhen included a break clause allowing for a potential January move to select European clubs. However, following his performance in Galatasaray’s recent Europa League victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Osimhen reaffirmed his commitment to the Turkish club until the season’s end.
In a post-match interview, the African Footballer of the Year addressed the ongoing transfer rumors, saying:
> “I’ve seen a lot of speculation linking me away from the club in January, but I can confirm that I’ll be here until the end of the season. I don’t know what Napoli and Galatasaray are discussing, but if there’s anything to consider, they’ll speak to me about it."
Osimhen also expressed satisfaction with his current experience, adding, “So far, I’m enjoying my stay in Istanbul. I’m happy to be here.”
